The good news: You just received an unsolicited call from the president of a global organization headquartered on the other side of the country that needs your assistance fulfilling a project for an upcoming event in your city. The challenge: Having less than 24 hours to deliver an on-target solution.

There are few things from sales and operational standpoints more satisfying than welcoming an unexpected new customer and having the opportunity to exceed their expectations right out of the gate. And, this is precisely the situation we were presented with when we received a call from Herman Azefor, President of the Nkwen Cultural & Development Association (NCDA-USA). Mr. Azefor found Homewood’s website during a Google search and called to see if we could produce 150 copies of a high-end, 44-page magazine for the organization’s national convention – which, incidentally, was being held the next day at the University of Toledo.

When Mr. Azefor forwarded specifications for the project to Homewood, he emphasized the critical requirements of timing and quality – particularly regarding color and bindery, as content was packed with full coverage images. He subsequently shared that he had experienced inferior print quality and assembly technique on previously produced versions of the magazine. Homewood assured him that we would not only deliver a top-shelf job on time and within budget, but also recommended using a heavier paper stock to provide more impact at no extra charge in exchange for an ad in the publication. Additionally, our team assisted the client with sourcing display hardware for an existing banner by connecting Mr. Azefor with a local exhibit company.

The sense of urgency and attention to detail paid off, resulting in a happy customer, a keepsake piece for conference participants and hopefully helping further the cause of the NCDA-USA. The NCDA-USA is a charitable non-profit organization committed to celebrating, promoting and preserving the culture and traditions of the Nkwen people from northwest Cameroon. Learn more here
