E-commerce behemoth Amazon just mailed its 2019 “Ultimate Wish List for Kids” catalog – re-establishing a proven, time-honored tool of past brick-and-mortar retail stalwarts to differentiate itself from the onslaught of eblasts constantly flooding the inboxes of potential customers. By reviving a traditional –and some may have thought “bygone” − tactic to generate holiday sales, Amazon is in fact delivering a brand new experience to many recipients of its 80-page catalog while including an online aspect as well by including QR codes on select pages to direct readers to corresponding product pages on amazon.com. Read more…

As you’re inevitably swept up in the impending mayhem of holiday shopping and festivities, wrapping up year-end projects − and gifts − and frantically searching for extra minutes to do everything else on your to-do list, there’s no more important time to carefully proofread files prior to sending them to us to print. Effective proofreading not only saves time in the production process, but it can also save money on costly reprints and alleviate a lot of stress – regardless of the season. We all know that spellcheck isn’t the answer when it comes to ensuring file content is 100% accurate. While it can identify many spelling, grammatical, punctuation and capitalization errors, it won’t catch them all, and it certainly won’t tag mistakes such as subject misidentification in photo captions, typos in product part numbers, and price errors in point-of-sale materials, catalogs and menus. Read more…
