As he nears his 20th anniversary with Homewood, there is nothing Account Representative Ernie Zuccarell enjoys more about his job than making contact with clients, specifically, meeting a customer for the first time. He recently said: “When a customer opens the door, I’m literally the face of Homewood. I’m not only representing myself, but the company.” The Toledo native has been a fixture in the local print market for many years, starting his career after honorably serving in the U.S. Navy. “I’ve experienced all the changes in the industry throughout the years – the good, the bad and the challenging,” he stated, continuing: “I’ve always enjoyed the sense of satisfaction when a customer shares their appreciation, maybe for going the extra mile on a project or providing a value-added service.”
Ernie earned a bachelor’s in Philosophy from U.T. – aspects of which have served him in his sales role over the years. One of nine children, ink must run in the Zuccarell bloodline to some degree, as his son Chris works in the Homewood bindery department. During his off hours, Ernie enjoys spending time with his family, including five grandkids, reading, exercising and playing guitar: “… alone, in the basement, wearing headsets.” We’re thrilled that he’s more extroverted when it comes to his day gig!
