You may be familiar with the Rorschach test – a psychological evaluation developed nearly a hundred years ago by Swiss psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach and involving the use of ten inkblot images. Rorschach Performance Assessment System (R-PAS) is a comparatively new scoring method for use with the Rorschach inkblots, which is easier to administer, interpret and score than its predecessor. As an organization, R-PAS offers several print tools, including a system manual, administration booklets, portable guides and starter kits, as well as electronic protocols and interpretive guides.

R-PAS recently teamed with Homewood to create a hardcover edition of its manual. Utilizing a combination of digital and offset presses, Homewood efficiently produced several hundred 548-page, perfect-bound volumes with a matte-laminated, soft-touch hard cover. The result was a manual featuring a current aesthetic and feel compared to traditional hardcover books – dovetailing with the updated comprehensive approach of R-PAS.

To make the project effective from quality and workflow standpoints, Homewood printed text pages on its roll-fed Xeikon 9800 digital press. In-line finishing equipment trimmed and collated cut sheets into ready-to-bind “book blocks,” facilitating efficient bindery operations. Hard covers were printed and laminated on Homewood’s Heidelberg 10-color sheet-fed offset press.

“Every step of the way, Homewood met and worked with us to create a professional hardcover manual for our users. We have been extremely satisfied with the end product!”, shared Mark Lafferty, R-PAS business manager. He continued: “Homewood has been a partner to our organization. They manage our product fulfillment and have been excellent to work with for our printing needs. They provide personalized service and creative solutions for each and every one of our print projects.”
