- Collating: Placing pages of documents in the proper sequence. Except in special cases, collating is accomplished in-line with printing.
- Die Cutting: Using an extremely blade or custom-made die to cut paper, cardstock or other substrates into various shapes.
- Debossing: Pressing a pattern (graphic or text) into paper or card stock to form a recessed image.
- Embossing: Pressing a pattern (graphic or text) into paper or card stock to form a raised image.
- Foil Stamping: Permanently applying metallic or colored foil to paper or card stock using a heated dye. Foil stamping is often applied over debossed or embossed patterns.
- Round Cornering: Rounding the 90-degree corners of documents, signs, etc.
- Special Coatings: Any of several coatings used to enhance design aspects of a printed piece. Examples include varnish, aqueous and ultraviolet (UV) coatings. Many coatings can be applied in-line during the print process.
- Special Gluing: Custom adhesive application techniques to bind or construct specialized documents or dimensional print projects.
