We’re fortunate to have what we feel is the largest diversification of staff talent for any business of our size – and that certainly extends to the leisure interests of our team members as well. Brian Barton, Homewood’s Bindery Supervisor and the focus of this month’s Offline Confidential, is a prime example. A Toledo native and 25-year veteran of the local print scene, Brian joined us 15 years ago this October, and quickly became an integral part of our production team.
When asked his opinion of what keeps the job fresh and challenging, he replied: “Homewood does a lot of unique jobs that others don’t. Not too many projects are run-of-the-mill.” One of the things that truly set Brian apart is his talent as a sports artist.
This after-hours passion has turned into a part-time career, as regional teams and individual athletes have commissioned portraits. Brain shared: “Most of my business comes from word-of-mouth or through Facebook.” He continued: “I’ve also illustrated full sets of sports cards.” Brian is the proud father of three children and three grandchildren.
